Pack 162 is run entirely by volunteer parents. Here's everyone, including the open positions we'd love your help filling.

Den Leaders — See Our Dens →

Pack Leaders

The Cubmaster runs the pack, leading monthly pack meetings, recruiting den leaders, and keeping the program moving.

  • Cubmaster

    David Brown

Overall leader of the pack. Runs all pack functions including the monthly pack meetings, and recruits den leaders.

  • Assistant Cubmaster

    Allison Burch

Fills in for the Cubmaster when needed and assists with any of the Cubmaster's functions.

Pack Committee

The committee handles administration, finances, events, fundraising, recruitment, training, and communications: the operational side of the pack.

  • Committee Chair

    Ronald Nario

Coordinates pack business and oversees the committee; liaises with Council, District, and the chartered organization; assists with the annual recharter; supports the Cubmaster; recruits volunteers and leaders; leads committee meetings; approves pack expenses; and directs communications.

  • Assistant Committee Chair

    Open Position

Assists the committee chair and prepares to succeed them.

  • Treasurer

    Justin Daniel

Manages pack finances: issues checks for approved expenses, reconciles accounts, builds and manages the budget, processes dues, and deposits funds received.

  • Event Chair

    Open Position

Plans pack events including the Report to State parade, Pinewood Derby, and Blue and Gold banquet. Develops event budgets and recruits volunteers.

  • Recruitment Chair

    Karen White

Leads the annual recruitment drive for new scouts.

  • Membership Chair

    Jaime Brown

Collects new scout applications, maintains the online membership roster, and leads the annual rechartering process each fall.

  • Webmaster

    Carlie Bower

Runs the pack's websites and online tools, and keeps our public presence current, accurate, and easy for new families to find.

  • Service Chair

    Ben Sullivan

Identifies and coordinates two or three service projects each year, and tracks service hours toward the pack's Journey to Excellence goal.

  • Pack Trainer / Librarian

    Open Position

Coordinates and tracks training for all registered adult leaders, and maintains the pack's reference materials including medical forms and guides.

Outings Subcommittee

Plans pack campouts and overnight trips, makes sure each one has the gear it needs, and helps families know what to expect.

  • Outings Chairs

Emily Spivak, Danielle Stapleton & Robert Burch

Plan campouts and overnight events, ensure each has the necessary supplies, and make sure attendees know what to bring.

  • Rangers

    Open Position

Members of the outings committee who help the chairs plan pack trips.

Fundraising: Popcorn

Popcorn sales run in the early part of the school year and fund most of what the pack does. Scouts pick up real skills along the way: self-reliance, persistence, and talking to strangers politely.

  • Popcorn Kernels

    Sarah Nario & Ben Sullivan

Coordinate Show-and-Sell and Take-Order campaigns, attend district fundraising meetings, manage ordering and distribution, and work with the committee to set the goal and incentives.

  • Popcorn Lieutenants

    Open Position

Assist the Popcorn Kernels through the sale.

Pinewood Derby

Pack 162 has its own four-lane track, which is a large part of why race day is the loudest meeting of the year.

  • Pinewood Derby Chair

    Geoffrey Elkins

Coordinates all volunteers for race day: setup, teardown, and running the heats.

  • Pit Crew

    Open Position

Helps with organizing, setup, teardown, and running the derby.

Report to State Parade

Scouts from across Texas march up Congress Avenue to the Capitol each year to mark the anniversary of the Scouting movement.

  • Report to State Chair

    Open Position

Organizes the pack's part in the parade: coordinating a truck and trailer, decorations, supplies, and someone to bring the donuts.

  • Parade Volunteers

    Open Position

Help the chair organize parade day.
